The Lincoln Memorial, one of the most iconic landmarks in Washington D.C., is a majestic monument built in the neoclassical style to honor the 16th President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln. Located at the west end of the National Mall, the memorial features a colossal statue of Lincoln, towering 19 feet tall and surrounded by 36 columns representing the 36 states at the time of his death.
